"This documentation should get you started: http://www.tuffwing.com/support/UAV_Mapper_Parachute_Installation.html
This might get it down in one piece: http://www.marsparachutes.com/mars-58/

Brian Christal replied to Brian Christal's discussion PixHawk Altitude Issues
"In my case above it was a poorly trimmed airplane. As an old RC guy who learned on sailplanes I always trim so the nose slightly falls. I fly with back pressure on  the stick. Not a good idea with a Pixhawk. Trim your plane in Manual mode so it…"

Brian Christal replied to DOUGLAS VILLEGAS DELGADO's discussion CAM Msgs and Files discrepancy. Check it!
"Use Pix4D to georeference your images. It's much more accurate. You must use time offset in mission planner if you have a an uneven amount of CAM messages and images."

Brian Christal replied to leopoldo ojea's discussion Plane-waypoint set up
"Looks like your plane is flying well. It's right on the lines. Use 75 meters of overshoot so it can get back to the line after the turns. Also, start downwind and fly crosswind."

Brian Christal replied to Brian Christal's discussion ArduPlane crash - Log looks good - Can't find reason for crash
"Can you see PWM commands in the log? The plane is still intact after the crash. It is a flying wing. Both elevon servos and control linkages are good. Seems like something was lost between Pixhawk Desired Pitch Up and the servo. Also, since it's a…"

Brian Christal replied to Brian Christal's discussion ArduPlane crash - Log looks good - Can't find reason for crash
"The plane crashed in a field and rested over night with power on. Amazingly the lipo powered without completely discharging and damaging the battery. The Log file was 389 MB so I deleted the part where the plane was just sitting. The plane was still…"

Brian Christal replied to Brian Christal's discussion ArduPlane crash - Log looks good - Can't find reason for crash
"Sorry to beat a dead horse, but I don't see the uncommanded roll. Roll and Desired Roll are somewhat aligned. Pitch and Desired Pitch clearly diverge."

"Thank you Andre for the excellent analysis. I suspected mechanical failure. Please help me understand how you see the uncommanded roll in the log?
Thanks!

Brian Christal replied to Raph's discussion Pixhawk & Analog Airspeed sensor
"I've used analog air speed sensors on two different planes with Pixhawks. They work perfect. I sacrificed an I2C cable by cutting off the 4th pin. Then followed the instructions here: http://plane.ardupilot.com/wiki/airspeed/#analog_airspeed_sensor…"

Brian Christal replied to Nick's discussion APM 3.2(?) HELP --- FLY AWAY --- VIDEO/LOGS
"Looks like a low battery to me. There's a battery failsafe at 6.5 minutes. The copter flies for another 5 minutes. The voltage momentarily goes be low 10 volts. Many ESCs are programmed to stop if voltage goes below 3.3 volts per cell. 9.9 volts.…"

Brian Christal replied to Dave Williams's discussion Using AUX pins as relays for CHDK
"Hi Plinio,
Yes, sort of. There is a beta version of the KAP UAV script that lights the red eye lamp when the shutter opens. I'm working a cable now that uses a phototransistor to read the lamp and send a feedback signal to the Pixhawk. But, the…"

Brian Christal replied to Dave Williams's discussion Using AUX pins as relays for CHDK
