Colin Sadler replied to Colin Sadler's discussion Pixhawk throttle fail safe issue
"Was the APM different than the pixhawk for this?  I tested it last night with it armed and everything functioned as it should.  I thought in the past i tested the APM the same way but maybe i used the USB for that."

When I disconnect my RC input from the pixhawk my throttle does not drop, it stays at whatever i left it at.  So now if it comes unplugged during flight it's going to fly away.Does anyone have info regarding this? Thanks,Colin

"Good call Bill, I didn't notice that.

I bought a 180A attopilot a while back as the the theoretical max of my octo is around 180A although at hover it pulls around 40A.  After reading through this thread I still don't understand why everyone is…"

Colin Sadler replied to Colin Sadler's discussion X8 Octo Prop Loss Then Crash - help.
"The odd thing about ecalc is putting the total AUW in and saying with drive it gives me results that don't match up to real world results.  When i put in the model weight without drive it gives me an all up weight of 4786g and has accurate numbers…"

"The motor mount actual broke in half, it's fiber glass.  I need to reinforce the motor mounts to make sure it doesn't happen again.  I have been using this frame for a while and it was in a crash with the previous motors so it was probably…"

Colin Sadler replied to Colin Sadler's discussion X8 Octo Prop Loss Then Crash - help.
"I noticed after watching my video a few times that it looses the prop seems fine for a split second then yaws then rolls and crashes.  I would think if it was the prop that caused it to crash it would react right away and not be so delayed. Can…"

So I just finished setting up my X8 Octo to run on 5S and decided to do a full test flight.  I flew for about 7 minutes, lost a prop and then the whole thing flipped. Here is a link to the crash http://youtu.be/XCinEiDRB08I could hear the X8 didn't…

"I have built an X8 with the same symptoms.  I attribute the problem I'm having to the batteries not providing enough discharge.  I'm using a 5000 MaH zippy compact 25C and when flying it sits between 10.5V and 10V then drops from there.  Today i…"

Colin Sadler replied to Randy's discussion AC-3.1 autotune support discussion
"I can't seem to engage the auto tune at all.  I have my channel 8 set to auto tune and when I flip it to high nothing happens.  I thought it might be my trims like they said in the last post so I did some did some auto trim to get rid of the TX trim…"

Colin Sadler replied to Colin Sadler's discussion ezUHF Not Working As Expected
"I figured out my issue, I needed to calibrate the 9x again.  I also figured out that the fail-safe was stopping me from calibrating the ESC's so I set the fail-safe to full throttle and was able to auto calibrate. "

I just got a ezUHF tx with an 8 channel diversity receiver and am having some issues with it.  I did a recalibration of the ESC's but it wouldn't let me to it though the APM so I had to put in each individual ESC to the throttle to calibrate.  Next…
