Francisco Ferreira commented on Joseph Aletky's blog post Local Motors/Airbus VTOL UAV takes to the skies!
"If I remember correctly they were using PX4 as the flight stack. You now have ArduPilot, what caused the change?"

Francisco Ferreira commented on Chris Anderson's blog post Congrats to the Aerotenna team for winning sense and avoid competition!
"ArduPilot for the win (again)!
They have developed their own code in top of ArduPilot, which is available at https://github.com/Aerotenna/APM_OcPoC_Cyclone/tree/ardupilot-uShar...
As can be seen by the commits it was easy for them to do it, showing…"

Francisco Ferreira commented on Chris Anderson's blog post Next-generation FPGA flight controllers coming
"So it still isn't compatible with PX4 but Chris is already advertising it is.

@Hongshu Qian
Will the shipping be delayed if PX4 support isn't ready in time? Both the OcPoC™ with Altera Cyclone® mini SoC Flight Controller and the OcPoC™ with Xilinx…"

Francisco Ferreira commented on Chris Anderson's blog post Next-generation FPGA flight controllers coming
"Chris' copy-paste is probably broken, I think he has a virus in his PC that insert PX4 everywhere it sees APM."

Francisco Ferreira commented on Hongshu Qian's blog post Introducing a Small and Affordable Radar Sensor for Collision Avoidance
"@Stefan Arbes

They are already using ArduCopter in their OcPoC boards and I think they wrote a driver for this. Unfortunately it is in their own GitHub repo, but I hope they will open a PR with it."

Francisco Ferreira commented on Dario Lindo Andres's blog post How to: Compile ArduPilot on Windows 10 with Ubuntu Bash.
"@Uwe Blumenhofer
Although the project was removed from Launchpad the repository is still available and you can install gcc-4.9 using these instructions without any issue - at least, until the Ubuntu subsystem is updated to 16.xx."

Francisco Ferreira commented on Chris Anderson's blog post Airbus Cargo Drone using Dronecode/PX4 stack
"Well Chris is the head of Dronecode and Dronecode owns PX4 so it's not that far from the truth that it his flight system."

Francisco Ferreira replied to Justin James's discussion Is there any control board that can trim by itself?
"No, Chris, Pixhawk doesn't have an autotune feature because Pixhawk is just a piece of hardware. ArduPilot (that can run in many boards, including Pixhawk) has an autotune feature."

Francisco Ferreira replied to Julian Magri's discussion 3DR SOLO open source
"Solo has a Pixhawk 2, which runs the ArduPilot flight control software. Yes, you can change the software as you wish and update the Pixhawk."

Francisco Ferreira commented on Julian's blog post 3DR's Rise and Fall
"The issue isn't the firmware, it's in the Android app. Anyway, just don't use Return to Me, Return to Home should work fine."

Francisco Ferreira commented on Greg Dronsky's blog post 3DR Solo for $399. Is this even possible?
"@Gary: the video downlink is just a HDMI connection. As David said the Hero 5 won't fit in the gimbal, but you can use it in the fixed support."

Francisco Ferreira replied to Randy's discussion PixRacer with Ardupilot
"3.4-rc5 will bring this improvement for the clones. To know when it happens you should be at http://discuss.ardupilot.org"

Francisco Ferreira commented on John Arne Birkeland's blog post ArduPilot and DroneCode part ways
"Regarding going to back to APM boards to get more developers: in the last 12 months, we had an average of 26.5 contributors/month, in the 12 months before that the average was 21.25

We may need to improve the code structure (although it isn't that…"

Francisco Ferreira replied to kane vincia's discussion Benewake LiDAR
"Hi kane,
Thank you for your answer. I have to say that when I read it was a low cost LiDAR, I though it would be cheaper than what we currently have. I won't mention the name in this thread but you can have a known LiDAR for a lower price than that.…"
