Serge Gonzales replied to Serge Gonzales's discussion X-8 Catapult (credits to bretbb of rcgroups for the original design) in Catapult & Bungee Launchers
"Hi there. Sorry for the late reply. Unfortunately I currently do not have the means nor resources to build another one since I am away from my home country doing flight training."

Serge Gonzales replied to Serge Gonzales's discussion X-8 Catapult (credits to bretbb of rcgroups for the original design) in Catapult & Bungee Launchers
"I like the arrester bungie setup. The downside of the original design is that the shuttle slams into the end of the launcher and yanks the two halves of the rail apart. This is why I no longer use the latches. Instead, I just bolt the two rails…"

Serge Gonzales replied to Serge Gonzales's discussion Be careful with loose connectors of non 3DR GPS units in ArduPlane User Group
"The problem I have with the recent ones 3DR manufactures are actually that they are too difficult to disconnect without using special tools. It is very easy to damage them if one is not careful. I have not had any problems with the original 3DR…"

Serge Gonzales replied to Serge Gonzales's discussion X-8 Catapult (credits to bretbb of rcgroups for the original design) in Catapult & Bungee Launchers
"I'm using tent stakes on the rear legs. I wonder how brettbb gets away without using them. I started using them when the shuttle caught the prop as the entire launcher lunged forward. In the video, the stakes were in loose dry soil so they did not…"

Hey guys,I just want to share this to help prevent any possible future crashes. I've tried several GPS units for my planes, namely 3DR, Jdrones NEO-6 for airplane and for Multirotor, hobbyking neo-6, hobbyking leah-6H, and crius. Non 3DR GPS units…

I really prefer the catapult launch for flying wings because of the reliability and small takeoff space requirement. I will be experimenting on using auto takeoff with this soon.  Credits to brettbb of RCgroups for the original design.

Serge Gonzales commented on Chris Anderson's blog post Communist guerrillas capture forest researchers using drones
"Happy you guys are back home safe. But next time, I prefer that you return with at least some of our planes and multirotors rather than none of them. :P :))

Time to get back to building once the new APM 2.6s arrive."

Hi guys,I need help analyzing my logs and need to confirm if the crash in auto mode was caused by an elevator servo problem or an airspeed problem. This was flown in a remote region far from people and property.5 minutes into the flight, the…

Hi guys,I was wondering if anyone here has tried to use APM datalogs with Pix4D? I am currently using a cropcam to do mapping but I am looking at utilizing the APM logs to do geo-referenced maps without the use of ground control points (because the…

Hi guys,I have a question on tuning for level flight in auto mode. When the plane throttles back due to increased headwind during a leg, the plane maintains a steady left bank of about 3-5 degrees. When it needs more throttle to maintain the target…
