About Me:

Owner / operator of DarkSoul Racing, we design and build mostly parts for large scale RC cars, but have been moving into other realms.

Please tell us a bit about your UAV interest

I am VERY interested in the quadracopter type platforms, more out of a desire to have a flying camera platform, I just cannot justify $20k for a Draganflyer x6 :D

Ted commented on Ramon L's blog post New Lithium Titanate Batteries the perfection of Li-po
"I know almost nothing about these new LiTi packs, but I can say from first hand experience of using the Nanotech's, that you can in fact charger them at the stated 5c rating with no issue. I admit, i was a little hesitant at first, so I watched…"

Ted commented on Chris Anderson's blog post Open source I2C ESC project and MikroKopter controler clone
"I understand that cloning happens, and lets be honest here, "clone" is a nice way to say counterfeit; but then to go on and openly promote/advertise that you are making not only a counterfeit yourself, but a counterfeit of a counterfeit.........…"

Ted commented on Jean-Louis Naudin's blog post The SCORPID-500 a full IMU controlled OAT/VTOL UAV
"Great project, would you have a more detailed breakdown of your 9 DOF IMU ? I am really interested in maybe trying to put one of these together, but would like to see some more specifics on the FC, also, any reason you chose to build the FC yourself…"

Ted commented on Mario's blog post I was already crazy...DIYDRONES made it worst ! The story...part 2
"This is a really cool project for sure, and not to be a nay sayer, but I also see a few issues, it will be interesting to see how you guys resolve them.

-To start, there is no safety/redudancy since there is now as far as I can see, only one motor.…"

Ted replied to Chris's discussion Dragonplate
"You need to be a little more specific on the details of your design. For the arms, are you going to use woven tubing or the pultruded "hollow rod". If you are planning on the hollow rod, I would recommend NOT using that. Being unidirectional, once…"

Ted commented on Chris Anderson's blog post HoverFly: New commercial quadcopter control board
"I would very much like to get my hands on this FC, I am not into the whole UAV thing, I just really like the multi rotor crafts, and after seeing some of the stunt flying these things can do, I would very much like to have a FC that has all the…"

Ted commented on Chris Anderson's blog post Announcing ArduCopter, the merger of the ArduPilot and AeroQuad projects!
"I definitely must get one of these when they are available to the masses.

Are there any plans, or could this particular set of electronics be used in a scaled up version with more payload capacity?"
