"Making progress.  It appears to only work in FBW mode and NOT with ELEVON_OUTPUT enabled.  Also, it doesn't look like it stabilizes the yaw channel."

Hi, I am trying to enable dspoiler on a X8 wing with 2 servos in each wing.  I am using the elevon_output for hardware elevon mixing.  I am using output channels 5/6, but I have tried both 7/8 as well.  If I set the RC5_FUNCTION to something like…

"Also wondering if adding a capacitor to a switching regulator would help with the constant voltage changes."

"Hi, you can use more than one ESC to power the same device only if it has a linear voltage regulator and not a switching regulator.  If you list what ESC you are using, someone here probably knows.  If you are only powering the APM, just leaving one…"

"Hopefully it goes better than this one.  What are you looking at to power it? Keep us informed.  Looks real tempting.

"It will require some long power leads to balance with the motor that far back.  Hopefully this version doesn't have the wing flapping issue that makes the 74" version look like a pterodactyl."

b nevins replied to Graham Dyer's discussion X8 motor choices in X8
"I was amazed at the difference between the APC and stock prop on my radjet.  It drew about 20% less power and didn't almost hit the ground every takeoff.  I could probably go up a prop size just on the efficiency increase which would give it better…"

"http://diydrones.com/profiles/blogs/new-huge-multicopter-motors-fro... isn't a whole lot of people running 6S on the X8.  I'm using a 13X8 on a 480KV motor, so 350 KV sounds about right for a larger prop.  How many amps are you looking at…"

"Maybe a curved blade like from a fixed pitch helicopter or some blades from a folding type prop could be adapted.I honestly wouldn't expect any benefit on a plane this small/slow though.
The other issue is electric motors don't really have the power…"

"They just updated the 2.5 to move the compass from the APM to the GPS to remove interference.  It won't be in the next few months.

b nevins commented on Jeff Wurzbach's blog post Misadventures in power electronics
"Hi Jeff,
If the power module could failover from the ESC BEC to the APM BEC, that would be great.  I realize multi-rotors, this wouldn't help, but for aircraft, the ESC could fail
The size of the power module isn't really an issue for me; although I…"
