  • @Hollen Day I checked the motor direction to. I am using the new layout top three motors CW and bottom three CCW.
  • Nishid check propellers r thrusting the proper direction and tht motors are spinning in correct direction.
  • I built a y6 850kv motor, 10inch prop, 20amp blheli esc and just for testing purpose I am using 2200mah lipo everything works fine but there is no lift. Double checked the pins on the apm which is running the latest firmware. Still I can't figure out what could be the problem.

    I need some help please.
  • I'm binding them with no jumper, but the thing is that it WORKED perfectly before the update so I did not change any binding ect....It was only after flashing the pixhawk and it requesting an rc calibration did this issue occur. This is why I don't think its an issue with the XJT or the X8r but rather the pixhawk simply being having issues, and while trying to flash apm planner will freeze at "100% download" at times refusing to request the unplug and replug to finish flashing causing me to require exiting apm planner and re-entering it once again. And while connected to usb it will drop and regain connection randomly while still showing as connected in apm planners top right corner...Also finally upon repowering the pixhawk with the usb cable now it will at times not only play its simple chime start up sounds but also afterwards play a long beep sound randomly but not always....

Thanks for the help @DG, really hoping to resolve this problem without having to purchase another pixhawk as I think I would consider switching to DJI before doing so.

  • Sorry, my 9XR has a DJT module, but it binds fine with the X6R. The XJT is made for the X series receivers. I have to jump pins 5 & 6 to put it in bind mode, then remove the jumper after binding.

My Taranis binds as well but no jumping required. .

    How are you binding them?

  • @DG,

I've tried that countless times with my pixhawk not recognizing the signal what so ever. And when implementing a ppm converter from 3dr it initially worked but after a firmware update is stopped working but after days and many hours of frustration it finally just decided to work. So upon switching to the sbus converter to save on wires ect... it worked perfectly the second I plugged it in...Then I added a gym mast so i went to recalibrate the gps and apm planner had a window that popped up saying my firmware was unstable to update so I did then now I can no longer get any signal once again...i did not change any wiring or change any setting within my transmitter or the x8r.....but now I get now...I spend more time fixing this inferior device then it even comes close to it actually working....I really wish more testing would be done to avoid these nightmares...but I think "IF" I ever do get it working again before it drives me to the nut house first, I'm going to avoid any and all updates from now on cause they seem to be the cause of my problems...

  • Craig,

I'm wondering why you're using a Cppm Converter for a X8R and 9XR with XJT module?

I have a X6R and 9XR and connect directly from the SBus on the X6R to the RC IN on PIxhawk.

There's no need for a converter.

  • Please Help! Flashed my pixhawk with updated APM Planner (2.1.15) firmware and now can no longer receive any Transmitter signal, when it worked perfectly previous to flashing I had just done a esc calibration with no issues what so ever...Using X8R with frsky SBus Cppm Converter, to a XJT module & Turing 9XR. I tried re-flashing the pixhawk with the firmware, also tried flashing with adruplane then back to copter also didn't work and even tried reformatting the micro sd card in the pixhawk and reloading the firmware and still no luck? This seems to occur each time I update firmware and it then takes me days to resolve the issue. Any one know where to access the previous versions perhaps? Maybe this will work. Thanks

  • Just depends Felipe, the X6r comes with two different type antenna.  The normal "whisker" type and  a paddle type.  I had no way of routing either so saw the antenna mount on Thingieverse and went for it. It also provided a mount for the receiver getting it out of useful real estate. Works out nice for me.  That left me with a ton of room on top for my vTx and my OSD that I need to mount after the holidays and I have more time.  I've been working with "people" here in southern Arizona exposing wildcat dumping in the desert and plan to use the X6 to image and spot old and new dumping.  It's a neat project and has resulted in several, Ah, can't say that for now.

  • Thanks, Guy.  I plan on using a Futaba receiver, so I guess I should not use the printed base...

Does anyone still build these? What's the state of affiars for DIY and coaxial hexacopter builds?

I've been fascinated with Y6 designs for years and have been wanting to craft my own but never had the finances to do so. FInally came into some extra cashflow and want to put it towards a drone. I just became FAA certified and have been doing this commercially as a side hustle in tourism. I currenlty have experience with DJI products. The allure of creating my own has always stuck though, as a fun side project. I've seen Y6 builds that are big enough to carry a DSLR and that's the direction I…

3DR Specs??

Does anyone have specs for 3DR Y6?  I'm looking for dimensions on all parts, but mostly for the main plates.  I can't find any spare parts, so I figured I'd manufacture my own.  I have a second Y6, but it has the old original top plate and I'd like to replace it with the one that supports the GoPro gimbal. Thanks

Pixhawk reading 0V

Hi, guys.  I know the 3DR Y6 is not as popular as it used to be, but I still need some help.  I recently dusted off my Y6 and started using it again.  I even installed a new Hero4 for 4K video with a new lens (to get rid of the fisheye effect)...The issue I have (well, one of them!) is that regardless if I connect through the MavLink or the USB cable directly to the Pixhawk, the pixhawk is reading 0.0V from the battery.  Now, the interesting thing is that BATTERY_VOLTAGE2 is reading correctly,…
