"Maybe look into the Procerus Technologies Kestrel autopilot.  According their website the Kestrel 2.4 runs about 5K and GCS runs 3,695.  http://www.procerus.com/productPricing.php  looks like a good little professional autopilot,…"

About Me:
If building and flying UAV's was considered a drug, then I guess I'll admit that I'm addicted. I currently fly a modified great planes Slinger with Attopilot V2 and xbee radio for 2 way comms with GCS.
Tell us a bit about your UAV interest
I am very fond of the simple RQ-11 raven type of design. High wing with a pusher prop. I have built many different styles of airframes and have found pushers allow you to make the most out of available payload space. I will say that flying wings are also very efficient and work well as sUAS platforms also.

From paper to UAV in one day.

Posted on December 30, 2007 at 5:30pm 3 Comments

As usual, I had the urge to design and build a new UAV airframe in one day. I woke up this morning and the gears in my head began turning about a new simple airframe design, so I started like I usually do with a sketch. I then moved on to cutting the basic shape out of a sheet of blu-core foam, making 2 pieces total then glueing them together with some gorilla glue. I also created a elevator and rudder using 1/4 in. foam…

very nice birds, where in Iraq were you deployed to? I wanted to make a small UAV for my unit while we were there but the mail wasn't very reliable so it was a bit hard to get the parts that I needed. How does the pico pilot work? is it mostly plug and play?

How much scripting experience do you need? The only thing I can do is HTML and even at that I'm only Marginal at. Currently I'm building a Kadet Senior with a Brushless Setup. I've got a camera gimbal for it and I'm going to have a forward camera as well. The only thing I have left to do is find a relatively simple AP setup.

Hey, can you maybe post some plans for your easy UAV?
Thanks,
