"Many thanks for your comments.
My biggest problem is I am on a partial budget for a short while an was trying very hard to not spend on something which wouldn't have worked. But now that I have some key questions answered, I am…"
"Regarding posting on Rover Group, I have an had no luck. Which is why I posted here in the Ham group. Hoping for a better connection as I am a ham operator as well (2m code-less tech)
Now, I am moving forward an will be starting a…"
"Ah! Clearly I don't know the DX5e (I use futaba) and I feel much better about your plan now. Whatever you do, you'll find an appreciative community if you write it up and post it after you do it. That is what this community is about, in…"
"Ahh, I understand your question. My transmitter has 2 toggles. One is a 2 position toggle an the other is a momentary toggle for setting an clearing waypoints once in Learning mode. The only issue I had was the ability to get into…"
"I'm not suggesting you cannot do it. In fact, for my purposes, I'd like to encourage you to try. More problem solving and variety is good for the community, and would make a nice blog when you've finally figured our what works for…"
"Yes, I understand that. What I'm asking, and what is important here, is the toggle actions. You see, few people at 3DR yet have much experience with rover. And one of the current features that is used in the rover code that is different/less…"
"Mike, per 3d Robotics, if you have Telemetry setup you can set any mode you want via a connected PC on the fly at any time. When I want to set it too learning, I can set that via my netbook an then toggle to auto or normal via my 2 position…"
"For anyone else who wants to know this answer as they try to plan out their purchases, I have found out today that a 3 position toggle is not mandatory if you dont mind setting the mode (Normal/Auto/Learn) via Telemetry with a Laptop/PC.
"Question for the people in this group. Is there any other method to set Normal/Auto/Lean on APM 2.5 other than via a 3 position toggle on the transmitter? Has anyone developed a switch to be directly attached to the APM, or can APM mode…"
"Hello old men...

"Just joined the group. K5BMA here in Hawkins, TX.
I.m in the process of building an APM 2.5-based quad with 915MHz telemetry and 5.8GHz video. Right now I'm using a Hobby King KK 2.0 flight controller to learn proper control. I used to fly RC…"
I do not think that the MINDS-i Sensor/Uno/Shield kit is worth the $250 that they are charging. I ordered just the Uno/Shield ($80) and they messed up and set me the complete kit. They charge ~$39 for Parallax PINGs that Parallax sells for less than ~$25 when you buy four. First, I would see how effective the Sharp IR sensor is with the AMP along with some improved code that may come along soon. You can buy a Uno, a servo shield, and three PINGs for a lot less than ~$250!
Just a thought.
