"I actually agree with this, Dr Mike Black. But one must think of the clutter caused by the IDE-like cables. Plus, you'd probably need to double the number of headers on the board in order to provide stackability."

"This sounds interesting... I have a copy of MATLAB/Simulink myself, and I was thinking of making a few modules with it to interface with the main ArduPilot setup. The main issue was how I'd get it from my computer to the Arduino board -…"

"I'm learning how to fly an RC plane. I'm definitely going to learn how to fly it properly before I put my autopilot on it. I admit I should have phrased it better; I want to test the hell out of it before I put it on a real plane. I also…"

"Whoa slow down trama, You cant develop an autopilot until you are first a pilot. Learn to fly an RC plane first before anything. This IS MANDATORY. Don't lunch a plane in the air until you yourself can fly it. Once you can fly a plane and work…"

What is needed for this?

Hi, I'm trying to get started with UAVs, but I'm going to develop my autopilot first before buying an RC plane. What I'm thinking is the following:1. Design autopilot using Simulink2. Use the Arduino RTW target to put it onto the ArduPilot hardware3. Do a HIL simulation in X-Plane.Now, on to my questions:1. Is there a S-function + plugin for X-Plane that communicates with Simulink, so I can test my autopilot before my ArduPilot arrives? I've looked on the X-plane forums, but to no avail. The…See More
