THE DESTRUCTION CAUSED BY FLOOD 2010
Pakistan is undergoing a flash flooding never experienced in its recent history. The brutal water has destroyed all the low lying areas in all the four provinces and Gilgit Balitistan. People are quite in pathetic condition and they are in need of food, water, sanitation facilities apart from the rebuilding of houses. According to the official estimates of National Disaster Management Authority, over 18 million people are affected. Hundreds of thousands are still stranded in the water. Almost 1.3 million housing structures are damaged. The people are vulnerable. Al-though many local and international organizations are working to provide immediate relief to the affected people, but it seems to be beyond human capability to manage this gigantic disaster. Still a big number of needy people is in search of the basic amenities of life and they need almost every thing to survive.
