Newb question I'm sure. I suppose it's for stability and to reduce tip stall. I guess my main question is....is there a good way to calculate how big a wing tip should be given a certain wingloading or some other variable? What's big enough for good
The basics for flying a UAV are well illustrated on this page, but I can't find any references concerning one touching down on the water without pontoons. If anyone had any insight into the problem or any constructive suggestions it would be much app
Anyone have any information regarding using multiple UAS at the same time? Specifically I'm interested in tracking two UAS through goops and google earth Simultaneously. I'm using Atto btw.
Tom and I just got our uBlox5 combo, and I hooked it up to my arduino as a Serial passthru using NewSoftSerial, with the built in and software port running at 38400. At first I thought I'd go ahead and port the parsing code from the arduPilot to run
I am new to this forum and would like to get some informatiom from you, already experienced home inventors. I am working on my perfect stabilization platform for camcorder (flying with RC heli and also for my home made electronic steadycam, well, the
G’Day,I have been lurking around the UAV scene for a while now – mainly in the quad rotor field. Now I am looking at getting into the opensource aircraft side (as a hobby). After reading here, and also on rc forums around the place, it seems the Easy
I am troubleshooting my blimpduino in autonomous mode. I have tracked it down to the ultrasonic sensor. I am using the serial console while manually holding the assembled gondola. My ultrasonic sensor returns an altitude of 0 almost all the time. Occ
I would like to enclose the H-IR sensor into a 4" round housing - any issue (e.g., timing, calibration, shielding) with unsoldering the sensor elements and extending them out and remounting to a 4" diameter a circuit board and bringing the leads back
Quick question. Is the groundcourse angle from sirf moduals tangent to the current path or is it the angle between the current location and the last location reported 1 second earlier?I assume of it were tangent - and more accurate- it would be doing
With the recent release of the source code for the ArduIMU, I hope to port it for use with some sensors and an arduino that I have. Here is a picture of my current setup.
Note: I need to finish connecting the gyro on the left.My question is, does it m

Did the first autopilot flight this morning :) With all that stuff in the nose the CG is a handful. The return to launch works perfectly, the roll control is about spot on with PID default setting, pitch is a bit out but not to bad.Waypoint mode did n

I have a quick question about the ArduPilot and the failsafe Return To Launch function. Can it be programed so that the ArduPilot will continue a mission even if the radio signal is out of range or lost? Also what length of time does the signal have
Hi all,I made a little mistake when, showing my girlfriend how fun it was having an autopilot in my hand, I connect the ESC to one of servo-in in the wrong way.Flaaassshhhh, the little 10µf capa between out2 and out3... RIP.I take a time to calm down

I downloaded the code for the new ArduIMU and am trying to open it but when I do it says the Labview file is later then the current version of labview. Is there a way to update labview or a way around this? I have Labview FRC (First Robotics Competit
How badly are the XY & Z thermopile sensors affected by uneven or hilly terrain? I am guessing that flying at a higher altitude reduces such problems a little, am I correct?Cheers Paul
