About Me:

I'm a final year Electrical Engineering / Computer Science student at Queensland University of Technology, who has always had an interest in how things work, electronics and artificial intelligence. I'm a member of the QUT UAV Outback Challenge 2010 team (SRUAV 2010). In my spare time I'm also working on turning my el cheapo RC Helicopter (a Chinese clone of the E-Sky Honey Bee Micro) into a fully functional UAV. I also enjoy soccer, snowboarding, surfing and the odd computer game.

Jason Lyons commented on Paul Mather's blog post Swinglet CAM
""From my point of view, starting the motor while shaking the plane isnt very clever. How to stop it again? Do you have first start your computer and GCS, holding the plane with the other hand?"

The battery looks pretty easy to unplug."

Jason Lyons commented on Dean Lamborn's blog post Quadcopter . . . On The Moon!
"I think you misunderstand the point of the ducted fans, while they won't work on the moon (there is no fluid atmosphere), they aren't supposed to.

The ducted fans are for the experimental vehicle on earth. They will run in order to simulate the…"

20km range is impressive though for an airframe of that size."
