Lorentz commented on Mark Omo's blog post MTBF (Mean Time Before Failure) Analysis of the APM 2.6+
"Hi Mark, my 0.02 §:
There are some standards that could help you estimating the MTBF of components in the actual scenario.
Among these, are MIL HDBK 217F, IEC/TR 62380, SN29500.
There you can find formulas for taking into account temperature,…"

"Hi Doug,
Wow ! Flight testing UAV autopilots ! I can't disguise some envy. Thanks for the explanation, my knowledge of PID control dates some 20 years back and I wasn't that lucky to use them in my every days' job. My guess was that a PID loop that…"

that's reassuring. I indeed suspected that inaccuracies in the simulation model would have the most part ."

"I don't know if this is the correct place to ask a aquestion regarding HIL simulation.
I was trying to understand the effects of delays on the tuning of PID parameters.
Has anybody been able to measure the delay between movements / disturbances of…"

"Congrats.
Thoughtful, simple and optimized design.
What material did you use to cover the styrofoam wings ? (just curious).
Cheers"

Great plane, I'm also a fan of inverted V-tail.
Did you designed the diesel engine ?
Is the design "open source" ?

"@Alexander
Great! That's exactly what I was looking for.
Thanks also for the offer. In case, I will contact you but I'm still in the early phases of the project.
Thanks again and let us know how the SD746 works.

"Alexander,
great accomplishment ! That SD746 stuff looks promising.
I had a look at web site of Sensor Dynamics but it looks like they only sell samples to "entrepreneurs".
Is there any other way to get one of the SD746 for simple mortals ?

Thank…"

little OT, but wondering how you overlayed the video from the onboard camera to the video taken from ground camera. And did you managed to synchronize them somehow ?
Thanks"
