Mapping fire fuel load with a drone

A collaborative research project between the University of Adelaide's Unmanned Research Aircraft Facility and South Australia's Department of Environment Water and Natural Resources, and with support from ForestrySA. Aerial images collected by a 3DR Iris+ multirotor carrying a Canon S110 compact camera. Data processed using Pix4DMapper to generate point cloud and orthomosaic.See More

"I tried something similar with a Powershot S100 - and 2/3rds of the images were unusably fuzzy."

"Have you tried it? I tested a mount very similar to that, and the vibrations are too much for the camera. Tested with a point-and-shoot Canon, Samsung, and GoPro."
