I don’t think that Iris does has a barometer or other altitude-sensing device, apart from the GPS unit. I know that GPS can approximate altitude, but not very accurately. So how is Iris able to land so nicely in Land or RTL flight modes?
I tried a simple mission today with APM 2.0 without success. Not sure why or what I did wrong. Iris did not want to take off clearly. I tried twice. The two back propellers were spinning much faster than the front ones which resulted in tip and flip.
Anyone know why I cannot get a detailed map to display on my Droid Razr HD? It shows my progress in flight but no roads, no images of terrain, no google earth...
How can I monitor the battery level in my Iris? I am using the standard transmitter. Also is there a manual for this transmitter somewhere? Or is it that simple I should be able to work it out by pushing buttons?
The other day I had my IRIS fall out of the sky (about 20ft) into a tree. I was actually glad it landed where it did because it was a small tree that broke its fall, and if it had hit the ground I'm fairly certain something would have
I would like to add FPV to my 3DR IRIS. I found a camera and a transmitter, both work with 5 Volts. Is it possible to connect them with the MinimOSD and power everything from the Pixhawk, without any extra battery? I know it is not recommended bec
I took my IRIS out today after serveral flight sessions where the IRIS would pitch forward with my right stick untouched. I originally thought this was some kind of vibration issue as seems to be common, but after today I don't think that is the case
Due to the poor GPS performance of the Iris and issues on some of them where the GPS presses down on the Pixhawk causing a wide array of other issues, i just ordered a mast kit for the Ublox GPS.
It will take custom cuts int the top cover so it will h
I just came across this video on Youtube from DJI where they demonstrate their claim of a 25 minute flight time for the Phantom 2 vision with a demo flight:
My Iris died a couple of weeks ago due to a motor ejecting. Video of that can be found HERE. After talking with the awesome techs at 3DR, they sent me a new Iris! The customer service was very good and I am glad to be back in the air.
