Tad Pole replied to benbojangles's discussion Help! I'm being shot at!
"This may or may not be of value to you. When you said the firearm he used appeared to have a silencer on it, I immediately thought of a PCP air rifle like the AirForce Condor, or Talon. They are "air guns", but use a pressurized tank to propel the…"

Tad Pole commented on Chris Anderson's blog post Trebuchet drone launcher
"I love seeing new ideas in this area, so let me give praise for the post. Thanks!   I did chuckle at "compact form factor" and "intact inner space" though. I mean, having to haul something on the roof could be applied to anything, and usually isn't…"

Tad Pole commented on Chris Anderson's blog post "Tyrone Drone", for unmanned aerial graffiti (with spray paint and flame thrower)
"Is anyone Aware of what sort of "burn times" they are getting for the flame thower Option, and what sort of distance it can make? I Need at least 30 seconds and 15ft.. 30 ft or more would be optimal. Thanks in advance."

Tad Pole commented on Roger Sollenberger's blog post 3D Robotics resumes shipments to 44 countries!
"I followed the other threads with interest, however never really was able to understand the problem other than a government agency was asking (requiring) that there be some oversight in some form or another. I'd be curious if anyone knows what…"

Tad Pole commented on AKRCGUY's blog post Another Noob pilot wrecking it for the rest of us...
"I'm not as upset about this as some of the rest of you seem to be. Sure it was a very careless an thoughtless action on the part of the operator, but realisitically shouldn't we almost expect this to happen? Afterall, the growthrate of this hobby is…"

Tad Pole commented on Andreas's blog post Drone vs. Drone
"That is so cool. Sort of like the TV show "Battle Bots", but with quads? I'd love to try this with some friends, but I'm not entirely sure I could afford this sort of hobby."

Tad Pole commented on Murat Piker's blog post check out Parrot's new drone
"I wonder if they might land some sort of European drone contract? Although I'm not a big fan of the political consequences of unmanned military arial systems, I would think it would be idea for a soldier to just be able to shake it, and toss it up,…"

Tad Pole replied to Philip Geßner's discussion ArduPilot plus Parkzone Radian without Themopiles or IMU
"You don't need ailerons. The EasyStar has only en elevator and rudder and is used with ardupilot. Just as you would steer to compensate for when the nose dips, or a side wind catches your plane, ArduPilot would also try to *correct* the orientation.…"

Tad Pole replied to Philip Geßner's discussion ArduPilot plus Parkzone Radian without Themopiles or IMU
"From what I understand it would not work without using sensors to help the ArduPilot determine its pitch and roll. The thermopiles or IMU are used for that very purpose."
