Bernhard Kullmann replied to Andy Demartini's discussion Maestro Tracking and Telemetry Files
"Mi Michael, I have followed the setup instructions referred to in this thread exactly and the pand and tilt servos respond to the correct angles using the Polulu configuration tool. Connecting it to the MP and configuring com port, baud rate,…"

Andy Demartini replied to Andy Demartini's discussion 3G + GPS Arduino Shield Modem in the group Telemetry over cellular IP
"Toby, Thanks for commenting, I have seen your videos and that's part of what made me start to research the topic.  As you know, the difficulty is finding a cellular-based IP device that also has a serial input.  Not exactly your…"

Toby replied to Andy Demartini's discussion 3G + GPS Arduino Shield Modem in the group Telemetry over cellular IP
"Telemetry with APM over IP was done successfully already in 2012! www.youtube.com/watch?v=biF3-BoYJ5Y Watch the other video too. Pretty impressing."

Andy Demartini replied to Patrick Helsemans's discussion Horizon is moving on mission planner
"Thanks for your reply.  This was my first uBlox and it peformed worse in just about all measures.  Side by side with an Mtek, the uBlox heard fewer satellites, had more position jitter and the HDOP was almost always above 2.5 and never…"

Andy Demartini replied to Patrick Helsemans's discussion Horizon is moving on mission planner
"R- That's a good explanation...  So, why does the instability appear worse with the uBlox gps and hardly noticeable with the Mediate when all other variables are held constant? "

Andy Demartini replied to Patrick Helsemans's discussion Horizon is moving on mission planner
"This has been confirmed (to me) by replacing the uBlox with a Mediatek gps.  The instability goes away, the pitch, roll and horizon settle down to normal "stability".  My hunch is that they are somehow using the uBlox position…"

Andy Demartini replied to Patrick Helsemans's discussion Horizon is moving on mission planner
"Alexey- How does this setting affect airplane flight?  I have _never_ seen this before with any APM hardware/software up until this new APM2.5 and ArduPlane 2.70.  This picture shows what the normal gps drift is doing to the APM's…"

Andy Demartini replied to Greg McHugh's discussion New flying wing from 3D Robotics in the group ArduPlane User Group
"Given the great commercial success of the Skywalker x8 wing, and its scarcity, it would be smart business to offer a close competitor. Bring it on!"

Andy Demartini replied to Marc's discussion Arduplane 2.70 Altitude failure in the group ArduPlane User Group
"You have chosen a frame that is when the airplane was making a 180* left turn back to HOME.  It is on an east heading and had to turn back west.  The measured bank angle was 61.9*. There was a crosswind from the south that you can see…"

Andy Demartini replied to Marc's discussion Arduplane 2.70 Altitude failure in the group ArduPlane User Group
"Cruise throttle set to 30% and roll limited to 45 degrees.  These settings have been working fine in several airplanes over months of flying.  Max bank angle of 45* is the APM default and I have never seen any instructions in the wiki that…"

Andy Demartini replied to Marc's discussion Arduplane 2.70 Altitude failure in the group ArduPlane User Group
"Sorry.  The little SD card socket cover was torn off in the crash and we did not find the SD card itself.  3DR telemetry had gone out shortly after takeoff, but that is a different and understood bug that is being addressed."

Andy Demartini replied to Marc's discussion Arduplane 2.70 Altitude failure in the group ArduPlane User Group
"I had a similar incident that resulted in the loss of the airframe.  The plane was sent out to a waypoint at 1 mile distance to check both the 3DR telemetry and the OSD video.  The plane started to orbit the waypoint but was continuously…"

Michael Warren replied to Andy Demartini's discussion Auto Takeoff Sequencing Problem
"Hi Andy, Apologies for the delay. I am waiting on the change to be accepted into the codebase after some small feedback from Tridge. I have been hesitant to make one-off firmware distributions before it gets reviewed and  finalised. This is to…"

About Me:
I am a private pilot (PP,MEL,MEI) and have done a lot of professional work with RF modems and high speed data links.
Tell us a bit about your UAV interest
So far, I've worked with the EasyStar platform, Dragon DOSD+ and now the ArduPilot Mega. Very impressed with Mission Planner and can see a lot of potential in the combination.
