"Search is next to useless even if it does work. The best solution is to use http://google.com and type site:diydrones.com your search keywords<\i> And google will only search diydrones.com site"

Does Site Search Work at All?

So I have been trying to follow good etiquette and search for answers before I post but every time I use the local search I get nothing.  After getting nothing for "moongel" (I saw it in new post and wanted to check it out),  I tried the string "quad" in both category and discussion searches and it returned 0 messages.  Same result for Chrome and IE.  It appears to be completely broken.  Am I missing something?I guess I can figure out the site-serach string to maybe work around it but it seems…See More

Beginner Flying Tips?

After getting the 2.5 3DR quad so that it can reliably lift off I was a little disappointed in difficult it was to fly.  I was expecting that it would be more stable than say an electric copter with some assistance in hovering and/or staying in one place.   Part of this is practical -- I live in the woods and I would like to be able to take off within the clearing around my house.  In stable mode it stays flat but it still drifts side to side and is hard to hover at single altitude (about the…See More

Motor Sequence Confusion

Another beginner question from me...I built a 3D quad 2.5 in the "+" configuration around Xmas time and am just now trying to get it up into the air.  I just re-ran my motor test and I am confused about what to do.The description says that it begins in the first motor forward (which should be motor 3?) and goes counter-clockwise.  When I run the test the first motor to run is marked 1 and then it proceeds in clockwise fashion (4-2-3).This is all from the perspective of looking down at the unit…See More
