"In my opinion and what I've done. I feel the higher C rating batteries do better in multi copters.. My experience is around my Hexa. I used the "large" motors from 3dr with a 25-50 Turnigy Nano 6k and 25 amp esc's.. After 20 or…"

"Actually I would stay as far as possible from Turnigy batteries. Their quality is going up and down. In last 12 months we blew 7 big packs without any reason and after that we stopped to use them. Try to get something better than those. GE,…"

"THis is really good point.  I would master the maintenance and proper flying of the copter for short flights of under 10 mins. Pushing arducopter for long flights or very high-altitude flights is not wise, or I could not do it. Its…"

"I would also consider the weight. Weight of the copter and weight of the battery. Somewhere there is a trade-off. Increasing the size of the battery will not significantly increase the amount of flight time. I have two quads and use 5000mah…"

"I would buy the 30 A because (1) there can be large surge currents with multirotors and headroom is good, runs cooler, more reliable   (2) there will only be a few grams extra weight and similar cost. (3) 30 A will be more versatile for later…"

"I got the 20A one by mistake, and it worked fine up to using 11" prop.  When using the 12" prop, it was a bit unstable. "

"20A is fine, max draw with an 11in prop is about 15A. You'll hover with 2 or 3 A (per motor).  Buying a larger ESC doesn't hurt you at all but in this case the 20A is safe."
