"In their COA there is a list of events such as a failure in the flight control, propulsion, or electrical systems or if there was a lost link or in flight fire, that would dictate an immediate report needs to be filed before further flight. I…"

Seth commented on Jared Reabow's blog post Airbus in near miss with craft that ghosted into Britain’s biggest airport undetected by air traffic control
""Also the 5 mile circular thing around airports is ludicrous and unrelated to actual flight paths.
Planes don't descend (or ascend) below 500 feet in anything like that space, only at the ends of the runway and certainly within a mile of the…"

I'm running the latest APM code in a Zephyr II and it flies well in Stabilized and all Auto modes, tracking waypoints and altitudes great. In FBW-A however I can't get more than about 10° bank and very shallow climbs and descents. Had anyone else…

"I haven't been "gobbled up" quite yet. Creating unique, well designed, and non-derivative things takes time. This is a project that is still in process, but has temporarily been put aside so I can focus on other UAS work. "

Seth commented on Chris Anderson's blog post VTOL UAV demo
"Huh, I stand corrected! I saw Tad speak at an AUVSI conference and got a good look at the Flexrotor, and at least in person it appeared to be fixed-pitch. He says this will be able to land on a small platform mid-ocean, and I didn't see how that…"

Seth commented on Chris Anderson's blog post VTOL UAV demo
"There's no pitch control on the main propeller, so landing on a pitching/rolling deck is going to be an interesting feat."

Seth commented on Gary Mortimer's blog post The bar has been raised
"Ron, you need to review airspace classifications. There is no airspace in the US that begins or ends at 500AGL. Have a look at 14 CFR Part 71. Even if you are referring to AC 91-57, that guidance is 400AGL, and it is for amateur and hobbyist…"
