so I'm sure there's gotta be a way to do it but can anyone point me in the right direction to find out how to set up arduplane using off-the-shelf components?I have an Arduino Mega 2560 a whole mess…Continue

About Me:
Married 15 years to the same WONDERFUL woman who let's me play with my model airplanes and collect Porsches.
I also have 10 year old identical twin girls.
I have been fooling around with airplanes of just about every type and size since I was 9 years old.
Please tell us a bit about your UAV interest
I am working on a fully immersive remote cockpit with working gauges, flight stick, pedals, and a throttle quadrant. All modeled off a F-15 and F-18 jet fighter.
Hope to combine flight simulation cockpit software/ hardware, FPV model airplanes, and UAV software and hardware to create the ultimate flying experience and possibly to market as a full solution.

My name is Brett Smith, and I saw that you were trying to back the Thalumus project on kickstarter.
I have been putting together an open source AHRS for one of the engineering clubs, using an 8-bit AVR instead of a full ARM cortex. I am trying to gauge the level of interest in a project like this, as well as how people would like this sort of thing to work.
I was thinking it could be set up as either a slave device (i.e. breakout board or arduino shield that could output euler angles, rotation matrices, quaternions etc), or as controller board with IMU built on.
I'd love to hear what you have to say, please get back to me whenever its convenient!
Best regards,
