"The carbon fiber tri-spoke rims work really well but on the pricey side. Sometimes you can find used or slightly damaged carbon fiber bike rims that work perfectly as copter frames."

Interesting topic on Gizmag.According to van Loenen, all the plastic parts, which include the clamps to attach the motors, can be 3D printed in ABS, with the appropriate files made available on van Loenen's website. The clamps used may not work with more unusually shaped objects, but there's nothing stopping anyone from designing their own custom variants.…See More

Interesting topic on Gizmag.

According to van Loenen, all the plastic parts, which include the clamps to attach the motors, can be 3D printed in ABS, with the appropriate files made available on van Loenen's website. Ya anthonyler@mweb.co.za sounds good ,i am looking to put something together with camers to try and catch pouches in one of the gameparks in South Africa ,if i may i am new at this blog thing rest on you for info on the electronics of auto pilot stuff . I have been flyingRC planes a few years and have build and flown them .i am busy with a kantana 100cc at the moment but the uav is the next in line .Thanx Anthony

Hey,
If you would like, I can laser cut 1/16" garolite for you, for your frame. Great for center plates/ motor mounts (not boom clamps).
I can read CAD files (autodesk inventor 2011).
It will only cost you materials :)
