Have you started trying to make an auto pilot yet? I have a few bits and pieces but nothing that is anywhere near getting up in the air yet!

No. I have not started anything yet. As you said, steering a heli is not as simple as pulling on the rudder. But I saw that there's aguy who is doing it. And it works quite well too. You probably already know about it: Vicacopter.
