Stuart Brookes commented on Stuart Brookes's blog post Will this be the end of many home built multicopters in europe?
"Looks like quite a few have signed the petition since I last looked, although to give it legitimacy I think its best signed by only those who it potentially impacts.
Lets hope the UK Parliament tells them where to go. Surely this is a matter for the…"

Stuart Brookes replied to Ivan R's discussion hexa flyaway - slow descent with constant yaw...no control response...mad :(
"You aren't running full logging. RCout would have been handy, were all the motors spinning? Thr out rose to max when the yaw started."

Stuart Brookes replied to Nils Heidorn's discussion ArduCopter 3.21 on APM 2.6 Hexa: strange yaw "pumping" and unbalanced motor output
"yeah it should be at the centre, but your front motors outputs are higher than the rear. Being its a small multi it may be particularly sensitive. Thats assuming its not some wierd esc cals.

Unless you have a bewer version of the firmware I have…"

Stuart Brookes replied to Nils Heidorn's discussion ArduCopter 3.21 on APM 2.6 Hexa: strange yaw "pumping" and unbalanced motor output
"To me looking at RCout in your log it looks nose heavy.

Yaw just looks like it needs tuning to me."

Stuart Brookes replied to Michal Rus's discussion Quadcopter with down facing motors/props
"On of my next builds will probably be upside downers.

I did see a thread where it showed a measurable if small benefit (can't find it now but it was on DIYD). The prop wash under a prop isn't the same as above. Ever noticed you can't rally feel the…"

Stuart Brookes commented on Patrick Duffy's blog post How to control a GoPro Camera on APM/Pixhawk with a Raspberry PI using WiFi
"I have seen reports of people losing radio due to the WiFi. Its not exactly the same as flying with other people on 2.4. The gopro is much much much closer to the receiver, and wifi uses wider bandwidth and isn't frequency hopping/spread spectrum."

Stuart Brookes replied to Tim Pritts's discussion Need log file analysis help
"Hi,

the mag one is because mag data is not being logged....its not enabled. Therefore the simple test can't run on that data. If loiter is OK, then no need to worry too much other than for curiosity sake.

The second one is due to noise on the Vcc…"

Stuart Brookes replied to James's discussion Thrust asymmetry
"Another good way to check is to look down the end of each arm with the propeller tips pointing at a common point on each adjacent arm (such as the tip of the motor shaft/spinner) and look for a high side, spin the propeller to check its not a bad…"

Stuart Brookes replied to James's discussion Thrust asymmetry
"i doesn't take much misalignment to see this, it is show classic symptom of a twisted motor."

Stuart Brookes replied to Ivan R's discussion oscillating altitude during forward auto flight?
"look for vibrations, they can get worse in forward flight on multicopters. Is the barometer protected from turbulance/buffeting etc?"

Stuart Brookes replied to Klaus Buddig's discussion DesRoll startup value -30 / Pixhawk / 3.2.1
"Are you running the default RC in channel order?"
Apr 24, 2015
Stuart Brookes replied to Crispin's discussion Feature request: Constant forward velocity
"you can if you fly loiter mode and set the speed to channel 6....you can then set full forward stick.

Whether loiter is smooth enough you though is up to you. I think the non gps modes are still better/smoother.

edit, or fly in loiter and add an…"
