If anyone can help I'd greatly appreciate it. This is my first quad. I calibrated the ESCs one at a time and verified the motors are controllable individually with the radio. Connecting it to the…Continue

I've tried it on two Windows 7 computers. I downloaded and installed Mission planner, let it update, then connected APM2 and it shows up in device manager as unrecognized device. I try to point it to…Continue

"There have been problems with the driver on the PX4 site.  Please use this one http://ardupilot.com/downloads/?did=54 You will also find the correct drivers in the C:\Program Files (x86)\Mission Planner\Driver folder of Mission Planner"

"Found a way around it if anyone else has that problem in windows 8. I downloaded the PX4 driver from the official website. I then rebooted windows 8 into the mode that allows the installation of unsigned drivers. I was then able to manually…"

Unknown device with Pixhawk

I just got my Pixhawk in and I installed APM planner 2.0, then connected the pixhawk, but my desktop computer won't detect it and neither will APM planner 2.0.When I look in device manager in Windows 8, it just says unrecognized device. I tried searching for a new driver and pointing it to the APM planner folder, but it doesn't find any drivers for it.I tried the same with a windows 8 laptop and same issue.Any ideas?See More

"I guess I'll have to go back to non-PPM also...I thought it would work just like the NAZE32 where I just use the terminal to set it to AETR or whatever, but I don't see any settings for that in APM planner."

"I have the same issue with a frsky D4r-II PPM...channels are all in wrong order. How do I change what channel is what on the APM2?"

"Drone, according to their email, the problem with mine was the 32u2 chip which required replacing the whole board. The new board works fine."

David Dominguez replied to Brett Glossop's discussion no bars to calibrate radio signals (AC quad, APM2 board, Mission Planner, win xp)
"Mine gets delivered today to 3DR...so we'll see what they say. Our problems differ a bit though, mine connects perfectly to the software and everything works except the radio bars part. I can verify the PWM going out of the Rx and into the APM2…"

"Brett,  The weird mavlink chars are normal. Have you tried loading arduplane firmware and/or just trying with one ESC on throttle? "

"Don't worry.  It's a problem with the forum.  It's still using an oldskool threaded-style mode.  Makes things damn hard to follow, so you just have to defeat it by always replying to the last post or the first post."

"The + and - pins are all bridged on both the receiver and the APM, so there's no reason to connect more than one of each."

"Also, I'd like to better understand. Through your testing, other receivers work fine, just the AR8000 doesn't work right? All I'm saying is I have 2 AR8000 and 2 APM2.0s both work just fine. I cannot come up with a reason there is…"

"My concern is that is normally a bad idea as well because then how is the PWM signal referenced to ground, most likely creating a rather nasty noise level? You definitely don't want to go back to the main battery as, from that ground point, the…"

"Again, I have the same receiver and validated the pinouts. On that one, the pins closest to the label are gound, the middle pin is always power, and the bottom pin is signal. He's got that part correct. "
