Started this discussion. Last reply by Graham Dyer Nov 22, 2012. 55 Replies

I've been looking for a way to set my home location after the APM2 is powered up. So I can get everything working on the edge of a field, then walk in to the middle and set home before I launch. If I…Continue

Setting home location accurately (within a few meters)

Started this discussion. Last reply by Eddie Furey Aug 5, 2012. 2 Replies

I have a problem, that the GPS is not particularly accurate by the time the home location is set automatically. My home location is often 50m away in some random direction, which (since I live in a…Continue

"I agree with Jay. Hobbyking are great for their cheap prices, and if you're flying around a park you can risk the occasional malfunctioning servo. I'm not sure I would fly a UAV out of sight trusting Hobbyking's quality control to…"

Eddie Furey replied to Andrew Helgeson's discussion Nav light positions? in the group Australia
"Yeah ok. I assumed it from "I live under the main approach path to Adelaide airport". But what I said still holds true, just maybe I didn't need to say it, so ok point taken."

Eddie Furey replied to Andrew Helgeson's discussion Nav light positions? in the group Australia
"I think the best idea is not to fly under the approach path. If you insist on breaking the law by doing so then having no lights would probably be less confusing for the full size aircraft. CASA regulations say no model aircraft within 3nm (5km) of…"

Eddie Furey replied to Steven G's discussion Bench Testing Fail Safe
"I'm sure the Dev Team can give you a better answer, but basically you can't test the motor speed on the ground. As long as you have a GPS lock you should be able to see the APM switch to RTL mode on the ground (I think), but to…"

"Burt is right about the two things not working well together, but I believe Ch 5 is the Flight Mode default for ArduCopter. So it's best to leave all the channels in and let the user decide."
