Hi,I just bought an ArduCopter Kit a few weeks ago and finally assembled it. Now I have some issues communicating with the board via the APM Planner. Here is a bit of history of my problem:1. I was…Continue
"The same thing was happening to me, I was able to setup all the radio modes, the esc's, but it just wouldn't upload the firmware, or fly. also, my artificial horizon was turning around while the copter was still on the ground...
I'm in france actually, Thanks a lot for your advises. Is there a way to communicate with my board again
with an AVRISP mk2 or directly connect to the Micro Controller and overpass the defected chips ?
"I ve contacted the support my order is older than 30 days they can't help ..... 30 days like the time you have to go to the bank to retract. Brand new hardware never used, destiny -> to the bin ... what a waste…"
"People had problems with the shield connection of the USB rather than the small pins. I had to buy a new one... I got a deal for 55 dollars at a shop I found near my house that sells all kind of Arduino boards. I tried with a programmer called…"
It "seems" that my USB connector is OK, but anyway I don't have a micro soldering iron.
For the other people, what was the real issue ? the 5 micro pins of the behind the USB connector ?
"Your board reaction looks similar to the reaction of my old board. I tried everything on mine, I even bought a programmer in order to re-load the bootloader, but nothing worked.
Lots of people solved similar problems to yours by re-soldering the USB…"
I've the same weird problem,
and in addition, I can't do a physical Reset on my board IMU (nothing happen even if I do a reset on the red Board APM with a tiny wooden stick).
So, I've tried 2 things maybe that can…"
"If you are confident enough you can use a standard small soldering iron to heat up the USB connector pins to reflow the solder below them. While you are at it resolder the USB hold down tabs. I did both of these and solved my USB…"
Hey Horia, I was wondering if you were in Toronto these days, I'm trying really hard to make my quad fly with no success, everything works perfectly: GPS lock, xbee, radio modes, battery cells measurement, ESC calibration, compass, sonar.... I'm stuck at PID's, the copter takes off in a very sluggish way, no matter how I tweak the PID's I always end in a crash, so I thought I might as well pay someone for their time and save money on propellers. (Also save time in balancing them)
Please let me know if you are available. I am at Dufferin and Bloor, but if you want I can take all my gear to you. My phone number is 905 616 8482 (not long distance; Mississauga). As I said, I'm willing to pay for your time. All I want is to have the quad flying.
Please help me out!
