"A lot of these commercial systems are priced at this level. I attended AUVSI this past August and a lot of these companies are selling similar products at similar price points. What local Law Enforcement agencies have the $40k-$60k for that? "

"$99 for the Revolution board! No brainer, considering the flight behavior of the CC and CC3D. Sure there are supply issues for the masses. Quality hardware and software is going to be in high demand. The model of OP is not commercial to make money.…"

"I get ~9-10min safely. The Tigers have a prop adapter that is 5mm. Just need to get a 8-5mm adapter. You should be ok with 3S. Might be a little on the heavy side, depending on your payload."

Kevin Vertucio replied to Alex's discussion How much interference is normal with FPV video?

"Jason, looking good. I completely agree with you guys about simplicity. I have been running copter control for a few months with just gyros and no auto-leveling. Having a well tuned machine in rate mode is pretty much all you really need. "

OpenPilot CopterControl - Tricopter

Compilation of some on-board footage from the my OpenPilot CC Tricopter. This thing is super stable. I have complete confidence when flying with OpenPilot. Can't believe how simple the setup was. I am using 3-bladed props this time. They are much quieter, but produce less thrust. I had to adjust my trottle curve a bit to get better…

Arducopter Y6

Posted on July 3, 2011 at 10:41pm 33 Comments

Finally got my Y6 together. I am running rctimer 2830/14 750kv motors, 30A esc, 10x4.7 props on 4s 5000maH lipos. Will get higher pitch props for the lower motors soon. Here's a video of some portions of the maiden. Still on default PID. I see it needs some fine tuning, but it's flyable on default settings.
