Last week I received 4S batteries and have been trying to tune the PID's on my Y6 for it. I am hoping some of you who are using 4S batteries can share your params so I can compare. I started with the params file posted on the 3DR site.
I ran across this thread over at google code drones discussion and would like to bring attention to it, hoping 3DR chimes in and can clarify if indeed the rear blades need to be swapped (and documentation updated to reflect this). You will noti
Anyone know why 3DR got rid of the 880 motor option? They are only offering the 850 as a motor option with their kits and ARF's. Also, what kind of flight times are you getting with the recommeded batteries?
Yesterday I was testing Simple Mode. I added a mix for CH8 to use a 2-pos toggle switch on my radio to turn it on and off. At first we took off and flew in STABILIZE, ALT_HOLD and LOITER modes. While in ALT_HOLD I activated Simple Mode. I confirmed t
These modes would help in cases where the Y6 is too far where I cant see which way it is pointing. Using a mode similar to Course Lock would always return it back to me, regardless of which direction its nose is pointing.
I'm curious how many people are using 4S batteries with their Y6 and how it performs. I was planning on trying a couple 4S batteries, but whenever I do any calculations on ecalc with a 4S battery, it says over power (260w vs 200w rating for the
Is it possible to perform the compassmot test without propellers? Or will the interference measure be wrong, beacuse the motors have no load? Or could I simply securely attach the Y6 (with normal propeller setup) to the ground with some clamps - shou
I really like the look (they really look amazing!), the lightness, simplicity and "foldability" of those C-shaped Y6 legs, but I'm questioning their stability: According to my experience, the legs tend to brake on a one meter drop to grassy gr
I bought a Y6 complete kit from 3DR and is slowly getting into a final. I wonder if there's any other Y6 owners nearby Stockholm, Sweden? I know of at least one more (Ericsson Flying Club). We will cooperate in building, trimming, etc.
So I have started to play with auto flights and have some longer segments that I would like to add a little more speed between them. I found the Do Change Speed in the mission planner on the waypoint drop down box. When selected it appears that you c
What are the highest wind speeds you've been able to fly your Y6's in? 15, 20mph? I'm in windy MT trying to do some surveying and want to be sure I don't push the limits too far.
I've been trying to extend my flight time, and also bring a bit more power to my Y6 - the direction people keep pointing me at is going to a 4S battery. Before taking the plunge, It would be great to hear from users that have tried, or are usi
Well today after some challenges I got the maiden flight in and all in one piece. It was a little on the windy side but I couldn't wait another day to fly it. First impression was it was running very smooth. It hovered great after getting out of the
Well I got my 3DR Y6 kit about 3 weeks ago and got started building it right away as I was anxious to get it flying. Since this is my first multicopter I just went through the instructions I got to the point to install the motor collet assembles and
I feel like I've had way too much trouble trying to fit all the bullet connectors, ESC wires, and the Arducopter Power Supply in the body of my Y6. The longest part of my initial build was spent smashing everything in there and I worry about all tha
Hey guys,After having a few problems with ESC and motor connections, everything is working now (well maybe not battery life).Question I have is, did you all cut the bullet connectors off and solder the ESC wires to the motor wires? I've seen it recom
