Ben Carson replied to Juan Bautista Rivero Miller's discussion Arducopter weird issues in ArduCopter User Group
"Hiya Juan,

Ben Carson replied to Ben Carson's discussion Will this H-Frame Hexacopter layout work with APM2?
"Well Im gonna put it together and try it out considering the front and back motor pair aren't moved anywhere I can see being a problem for the flight controller, and if so then I can just edit the motor placement in the code."

Hi,Just wanting to confirm whether this frame layout will run OK with arducopter before I commit to building it, I don't see why it shouldn't work as a circular hex frame firmware considering the motor placement.Anyway please let me know what you…

"The thing is, often cheap unsafe equipment is to blame - and considering hobbyking products are everywhere the attention should be focused towards awareness and education of equipment faults and redundancy (Ie. don't run only one cheap BEC, range…"

best idea so far imo, would be interesting to think about the mechanics of such an arrangement, I will be thinking about this :) Perhaps, even a mechanical mount concept which detects a failure of motor torque and lift at the same time to…"

"Very interesting. Moving the center of mass to allow some control effect is a great idea.

Another way might be to have batts supported laterally on a boom, with the mounts attached with cable attached to a brushless motor so in this situation the…"

Seeing the awesome evolution of the Arducopter code I was wondering how long until the APM V1.4 becomes redundant due to code optimized for the APM2.5 hardware?

Im still running a couple of 1.4's and Im curious whether their code and…"
