Daniel Chote commented on Mark's blog post Low Cost Lights
"Great post aside from one major safety issue. I would suggest reading: http://diydrones.com/profiles/blogs/complete-guide-on-lipo-batteries
It is really important that you don't unevenly discharge a lipo."

Ebay was running a great deal on refurbished 2nd gen Nexus 7's, so I thought it would be a great time to step away from my HoTT telemetry (and the headache of constantly making the module work with the arducopter code) and upgrade to…

Daniel Chote commented on Jeff Wurzbach's blog post Misadventures in power electronics
"I love the power module, but I think I can speak for a lot of people that 4s is a big restriction. A 6s capable module would be really helpful. I would also love to see a 3dr product for high power PWM."

Daniel Chote commented on Joshua Ott's blog post Thirty days (#24): More new product previews
"the 2 cents I will add in here is pretty simple.  You have to start somewhere, with something. This particular problem is a tough nut to crack, I have spent many weeks now trying to come up with a reasonable brushless gimbal that not only is well…"

Daniel Chote commented on Daniel Jardine's blog post Tiny Thermal Cameras for drones...
"What a great little product, but I agree with the other comments about price. You can get thermal imaging modules from scrapped high end cars for around 800-1100. At that range it makes sense to a hobby guy, I think 5k is very reasonable for…"

I have been working on a fork of the Arduino IDE for use with the Pinocc.io project. With all the improvements I have made, it became my default go to for any Arduino code uploading, so it was inevitable that I would bake in ArduPilot HAL as well! My…

Daniel Chote commented on Heino R. Pull's blog post Ardustation 2 Aircraft Battery Low Voltage Warning (2.0.18)
"Great job! I use graupner telemetry with my gear and settled on 10.6v also. At 10.4v I could consistently cause ESC low voltage glitches if any wind or quick movement occurred. 10.6v gives enough buffer to RTL before anything weird happens."

Daniel Chote commented on Marcel Norman's blog post My 1st Quad
"This is a great place to start, but I would maybe suggest building an H frame out of wood or light aluminum. PVC will definitely become the source of frustration.

Even using a solvent based glue, the joints will work themselves apart, I have had…"

Daniel Chote replied to Randy's discussion ArduCopter 2.9 / 2.9.1 released
"I havent read all the comments yet, but I have a loiter bug *possibly*. Its documented in the video and I am attaching the log file as well.  Basically if you flick to loiter from stabilize, you will get periodic (possibly 10 seconds or so) "motor…"
