I have recently retired and needed a new hobby. Over the last years I have built a one person gyrocopter, and I have designed and buit a power parachute. Mt flying days are over so the fpv hexacopter sounds like a good thime.
Please tell us a bit about your UAV interest
I eventually want to use my hexacopter for a photo platform.
It's fun to find someone else in Minnesota flying these things around. I have an APM 2 and have flown it in my octocopter. I have not used the altitude hold feature with my APM 2 autopilot yet so I don't know how well it works with the standard barometer. I can tell you that my octocopter flies well with default settings. I do have a MB 1261 that I plan to try soon.
The MB 1261 is supposed to range up to 35 feet, at that height you could get good pictures.
I'm putting the APM 2 on a quad now and I'll be testing more of the AutoPilot's features.
