I have tried turning off the transmitter to test Failsafe twice and both times the motors disarmed and the copter fell. Before I try this for the third time, I would like to ask some questions.1.…Continue

Sonar on/off switch does not appear to work. Problems with sonar.

I ordered a MB1020 LV-MaxSonar-EZ2 High Performance Ultrasonic Range Finder with my arducopter hex kit not knowing it was not one of the three on the list. I added the power filter and installed it…Continue

"Following that thread to setup fail-safe is how I got the disarming problems. Setting RTL height to "0" is how I fixed the disarming problem."

Wayne Morris replied to mark's discussion Does anyone have Failsafe working using the Turnigy 9X in the group ArduCopter User Group
"The fail-safe is set on the receiver many times. Some, like Futaba, have the option to set it through the transmitter. You will have to do some research on how to set the fail-safe. In my experience, it is almost always off by default. Also, you may…"

"Check the instructions for the receiver on setting the fail-safe options. You need to set the receiver to lower the throttle when connection is lost."

"Did you ever get an answer? I have been working on this as well and found that if I set RTL height to "0" which tells it to land, everything works as described in the wiki. Mine was doing the same as yours and just "Disarming"…"

"Since we are talking about planes now. Multi-blade props help us with ground clearance on airplanes. As the size of the engine increases, a multiblade prop can help absorb the power generated by the motor better. A multi-blade can be quieter,…"

Wayne Morris replied to Coen's discussion Which propellers from hobbyking can I buy for ArduCopter? in the group ArduCopter User Group
"No. If the diameter of the prop and the voltage are the same, then a low pitch prop is low current and a high pitch prop is high current. That is because the low pitch prop has less resistance to the air during rotation as it is flatter. The low…"

Wayne Morris replied to Coen's discussion Which propellers from hobbyking can I buy for ArduCopter? in the group ArduCopter User Group
"Some of these responses on props is bogus. Props are not well understood by a lot of people.  High pitch props are used for speed like the high gear on a car. Lower pitch props are for power like 1st gear on a car. The multicopters need power…"

"I've found the On/Off in 3.01 is a little flakey as well.  If I don't toggle the on/off once before arming, I usually get a flashing arm light.  One the second and third arm though, it doesn't flash.   Only common…"

Throttle Failsafe Operation APM 2.5 version 3.0.1

I have tried turning off the transmitter to test Failsafe twice and both times the motors disarmed and the copter fell. Before I try this for the third time, I would like to ask some questions.1. When I change the failsafe options in the MP, there is no save option. Is the information being updated in the copter automatically? I know my low battery - land feature is working but Throttle fail is not. I am not sure how this works but I hope, of course, that this works when not connected to the…See More

"I still don't know if this is supposed to work or not. I changed my Sonar and the problems I was having went away. But the on/off option still does not seem to do anything."
