Took Iris out for some flights yesterday and still flies great. But the USB port on my GoPro 4 Silver seems to have failed for charging and data transfer... but strangely still worked for Iris+ FPV. So the battery is dying and who knows how long th
So I charge upall my batteries and head out to do a video for my friends' business today and epic fail. Iris+ herself seems to be fine but I can't seem to do anything with the transmitter except tilt the Tarot/Gopro. That works fine but no other con
I need to plan an aerial survey mission for a friend's farm up in Pennsylvania. But without being at the location there doesn't seem to be any way to get MP to home in on the property short of zooming and dragging the map around until I find it. I
I flew a longer auto mission yesterday at a friend's farm and my Galaxy S3 running Tower lost the Mavlink connection around waypoint 5 or so. I know that link isn't required for Iris to continue on mission but when it quit reporting its waypoints I
I decided to try these props I had ordered awhile back. All my impressions are subjective but I like the props. They seem to give more lift, at least when the battery is at full voltage. I believe it has a more responsive climb with the gimbal and
OK, I googled this and found lots of folks wondering the same thing but I couldn't find an answer. Has this functionality been added to Tower yet? Or is it a "coming-soon" feature.... or just a pipe dream. Anyone know the current status?
Just wondering if anyone is using an inactivated Android phone for Tower mission planning. If the phone no longer has a data connection to update the maps is there a way to simply download that stuff on wifi or USB for use in the field?
Did a flight last weekend over a local river. Very pretty day... and the only way to see the river through the trees is from overhead. Between the telemetry altitude and my FPV monitor I could even have flown it out of sight along the river via FPV
I do not have a Solo... still enjoying my Iris+ a lot... but I see that Solo batteries seem to have a proprietary interface so that you can't use other chargers. Is this right? If so, what a PITA. With my Iris+ I am used to charging my 2 batteries
I seem to be getting some tones from my transmitter when flying... different combinations of high and low pitch. I am guessing these are not random and must mean something. I think one I was getting was because I was approaching my geofence altitud
After my recent crash I replaced a couple of broken arms. No problem finding the parts. But like some of you I found dealing with the plastic clips and snap-on LED diffusers as much or more difficult than the rest of the work. The plastic clips th
Has anyone found a 3rd party y-cable or a cable with a switch to connect up the GoPro? It is really annoying to have to pull it off after every session to keep the FPV from draining the battery. Not to mention always having to pull it to charge it
I need to verify my motor ESC connections after resoldering the motors whilst replacing 2 arms. I am having trouble arming Iris after the repair and want to make sure I have these connected correctly before moving on to look elsewhere. So if anyone
I have the Iris+ Black Pearl FPV kit and installed the monitor to the transmitter per directions. But it is a loosey sloppy wiggly mess. Does anyone have a better way to mount the monitor? Or maybe a way to just stabilize it a bit?
My fault, this one... Last time I flew a couple months ago I redefined the flight modes so I could try the non-standard ones like circle, etc. And the way it works - you guys all know this- is that the flight mode switch and the RTL switch combine
I am new to the GoPro ecosystem and wonder about finding an easier way to make settings, start recording, etc, whilst the camera is attached to the Iris+ gimbal. Getting down to do that is a bit of a PITA so I was wondering if any of you guys use th
Like some folks have said in one of the crash threads I much prefer to take off and land in stabilize mode. Gives me more positive control and takes away some of the issues that seem to occur with the automatic systems engaged near ground.
I have an old field box for my nitro planes but need something similar for the Iris+ (and perhaps some other future electric aircraft). Needs to carry batteries, props, misc cables, battery charger? What do you guys use? What works and what doesn'
