Hi all,I'm interested in playing with the APM 1, and I wanted to start from scratch using AtmelStudio.  My question is, how do I reprogram the uP? Most of the uP I've worked with require some sort of…Continue

"Try this: Go to MP, than upload HIL mode. Than use arduino to upload whatever you want. It helped for me. Might be it was a random thing, but i just did it this way. Hope it helps. Gábor"

"Samuel, I had the same problem with two APM 1 2560 boards and it turned out to be a bad FTDI cable. I was using a new FTDI cable purchased from 3DR and nothing would load consistently from the Arduino IDE. So I purchased a different FTDI…"

Can't get Audrino to connect to the APM Mega

Hi all,I can't seem to get my APM to talk with the Arduino software.  The board is ok, and talks to the mission planner.   When I try to use the arduino, it appears to be sending out a serial command, but the board isn't listening for it. I've tried resetting the APM, but that doesn't seem to trigger it.  I've read the online wiki and tried the tips.   Is there a setting I'm missing? BAUD, etc. Thanks!samSee More

Trouble getting Arduino Blinky to Upload

Hi all,I have the APM 1 with the Mega2560... I can upload using the Mission Planner just fine.  But I wanted to try the Arduino software, and tried to upload the Blinky program.  I can't seem to get arduino to upload the software.  avrdude just keeps timing out, and it appears that the program on the APM (uploaded from   the mission planner) continues to run.I've tried to press the reset button, and I've setup the COM port as specified.  I've also read the manual, but no joy.Any ideas?thanks!SamSee More

"Yes, it's all in the manual here.  You know, I'm sure, that Arduino is not required to use ArduPlane/ArduCopter. The Mission Planner will load all the code for you. Arduino is just there if you want to play around with the code…"

"If you're using Arduino to program, you can just use the USB connection (it has a built-in Arduino bootloader). If you want to use AVR studio, you'll need to us an AVR programmer instead. "

Reprogramming the ATMega 2560

Hi all,I'm interested in playing with the APM 1, and I wanted to start from scratch using AtmelStudio.  My question is, how do I reprogram the uP? Most of the uP I've worked with require some sort of tool, or access to the JTAG.  The MissionPlanner seems to be able to use the USB/serial port.  Can someone point me in the right direction? Thanks!SamSee More
