Please tell us a bit about your UAV interest

Aerial photography. My nephew is a forensic fire scene investigator and consultant. Want to end his chronic gripe that large scale fire scenes are disturbed - sometimes demolition has begun by the time the investigators are turned loose. Learning to construct/fly/flight test Magpie AP aircraft. Much underrated A/C for slow flight - low altitude - high res photos. Understand the theory - amazed by the tiny hardware (Harpoon S/D = 25lbs.) Blank mind about the I/F conventions and alphabet soup) Looking for young bright mentors in exchange for math and tribal lore questions.

"Hi Itzik Somehow ended up with a freind request from you.  I noticed your intent to acquire X-Plane.  Be advised from my own experience that this Ver 10 requires great processing power - at least - a 2-core 3 gigaherz computer, gobs of RAM, a game…"

Mike Cowan replied to Craig Audiss's discussion Pretty discouraged Right now
"The R Pro is a sailplane so you should have no problem finding the right cg by hand launching. Still, other thoughtful comments express concerns about the attitude at crash. Let's review these items of the crash trajectory as you prepare for flight.…"

"Ian - Some added information that may be of help to you in your camera pointing development effort.  As I wrote, I had in mind the camera orientation defined in the attached sketch.  For a forward looker, the azimuth gimbal angle, alpha, would have…"

"There has been a lot of air over the wing since we last corresponded.  Good to hear from you. Have been studying the completed Ardupilot/IMU, and have a much better grounding in the current technology. Let me say I am impressed at the sophistication…"

The title says it all.  Which of the two shield mounted air pressure sensor ports is to be tubed to the static pressure tube?  The A/C testbed is a very slow flying foamy - 12x8 prop geared down to 6:1.  Trial and error results are indeterminate…
